Hello, I’m a Photographer based in Northumberland, UK.

Black and white portrait of a woman with wavy, shoulder-length hair, smiling, wearing a black shirt and a puffy vest, against a dark background.

About me!

With its dark skies, beautiful coastlines and hills there is a lot to inspire me and being so close, I often visit Scotland, which holds a special place in my heart.

Photography has given me a new perspective through which to see the world — it affords me a healthy blend of creativity, exploration, and time outdoors.  It is the unconventional that continues to inspire me the most; capturing the play of light and shadow, the ever-changing moods of the weather and how this influences the landscape, often using longer exposures to add an abstract, dream-like quality to my images. Freezing fleeting, magical moments has become my reward, and I find joy in the fact that no two outings are ever the same; every landscape, seascape, or wildlife shot feels like a fresh discovery.

In recent years, I’ve been fortunate enough to have my work recognised in several national UK photography competitions, which has been an exciting milestone in my journey, details of which are listed below.

Awards & Recognition

  • My journey with photography competitions began in 2020, when I was thrilled to be shortlisted for Landscape Photographer of the Year with my capture of Routin Lynn, a stunning Northumberland waterfall.

  • I received my first photographic commendation from Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year for 'When the weather gives you Lemons,' a piece featured in my Light Series from Loch Ard.

  • In 2022, I was honored to have three distinct waterfall photographs commended by Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year.

All three are featured in my Darker Series gallery.

    Grey Mare II
    Hidden Within
    Loop of Fintry

  • Honored to be shortlisted for Landscape Photographer of the Year with my piece 'Midnight Tide.' Out of over 1,600 photographers, only 273 were selected for this recognition.

  • In spring 2022, a photo of some Cornish Poppy fields inspired me to explore the Northumberland poppy fields, where I captured 'The Introvert.' This photo earned me a spot on the British Photography Awards Macro Shortlist and an invitation to the Dorchester gala in London. Found in my Natural World Series.

  • Commended for 'Symphony of Grey,' captured at Talisker Beach on the Isle of Skye during a family holiday. I was drawn to the beautiful patterns created by the retreating tide against the tonal sands. Found in my Light Series.

  • Found in my Dark Series “Solitude”was captured on a crisp autumn morning at Loch Rusky, Scotland. The early mist danced gracefully across the loch’s surface, creating the perfect serene moment.
